Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had no problem crushing the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night.
Allen and the Bills won the first of two “Monday Night Football” games 47-10 while making a big statement at Highmark Stadium. With Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars still winless, the Bills are now 3-0 on the year.
Allen threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns in the win, while leading the team with 44 yards on the ground. Lawrence, on the other hand, threw for just 178 yards with one touchdown and an interception. He was eventually replaced by Mack Jones. Tamar Hamlin also recorded his first career interception in the win for the Bills.
The other game in the ESPN doubleheader is a thriller in Cincinnati. Jaden Daniels and the Washington Commanders beat Joe Burrow and the Bengals 38-33. Daniels threw his first career touchdown pass — remarkable for an offensive lineman — and led the Commanders to a 2-1 record on the year. Burrow and the Bengals, however, are now 0-3 for the first time since 2019.
Burrow hit Ja’Mar Chase for a pair of touchdowns, but their defense couldn’t stop Daniels and the Commanders. Daniels went 21-of-23 for 254 yards while throwing for two touchdowns and running for three. Terry McClarin’s perfectly placed ball in the corner of the end zone was his final score of the night, sealing their win.
Burrow went 29-of-39 for 324 yards with three touchdowns in the loss to Cincinnati.
