BOSTON – Members of alternative band Jane’s Addiction were seen fighting on stage during a show in Boston on Friday night.

Fight caught on video

It happened during the band’s show at the Leader Bank Pavilion. The video shows lead singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro yelling and confronting each other in the middle of a song, with Pharrell shoving each other before throwing a punch at Navarro. Another person jumps between them, breaking up the fight. After that the concert ended early.

Video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, with some fans speculating whether the band would break up.

Wife blames frustration

“Perry’s frustration grew as night after night, he realized the stage was too loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band,” Pharrell’s wife, Etty La Farrell, wrote in an Instagram post Saturday morning.

She said her husband was suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat, and “by the end of the song, he wasn’t singing, he was just shouting.” She said her husband then broke down and “cried and cried”.

Jane’s Addiction, known for hits like “Jane Chase” and “Caught Stealing,” is on its first tour in 15 years. Their next show is set for September 15 at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Concert promoter WBZ-TV reached out to Live Nation for comment. The band did not address the incident on social media.
