Lionel Messi’s Argentina will face James Rodriguez and Colombia in the Copa America final in Miami on Sunday night, kickoff at 8pm ET. It will be a poetic Copa America final as Colombia meet the last team to beat them for a chance at a first title since 2001 on Sunday in Miami. This is their second title and to do so, Los Cafeteros will need to get past Lionel Messi and defending champions Argentina. James Rodriguez, who already holds a record in competitive play, now has the most assists in any Copa America with six, but he will end Colombia’s unbeaten streak of 29 matches in all competitions by at least seventh.

Plots
Colombia: If Colombia is to win the Copa America title, Nestor Lorenzo will have to overcome every obstacle in his path. Right-back Daniel Munoz will be banned for the final after picking up two yellow cards in the first half against Uruguay. After RodrÃguez, Munoz was Colombia’s second best player during the tournament, scoring two goals while playing excellent defense. Santiago Arias is likely to be included in the final, which will give Colombia’s attack a slightly different look.
Argentina: Argentina will need more against Canada, a team that has underperformed expectations for much of this tournament. While Messi was dealing with fitness concerns, he still managed to score against the Canucks, but it was the form of Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez that bolstered Argentina during this match. They’ll need more from their defence, especially in set plays where Rodriguez assisted four goals, but if there’s one team that can stop a high-powered attack in the final, it’s Argentina.
Prediction
Colombia will come full circle to win the Copa America and extend their unbeaten run. With another win, who will stop this team? Selection: Colombia 2, Argentia 1
