A drone was launched at Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s home

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said a drone was launched at his private home in the coastal city of Caesarea.

“The prime minister and his wife were not present and there were no injuries in the incident,” a statement said.

It comes after the Israeli military said three drones were launched from Lebanon into Israel early Saturday, one of which hit a building in Caesarea.

The Israeli government did not say whether the building was part of the prime minister’s residence or the extent of the damage.

At 08:19 local time (06:19 BST), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said: “In the last hour, three unmanned aerial vehicles entered the country from Lebanon.

“Two planes intercepted. Another plane crashed into a building in Caesarea, no injuries.”

Netanyahu uses two private homes in Caesarea and Jerusalem, and has also spent time at Beit Akion, the prime minister’s official residence in Jerusalem, which is currently being renovated.

The IDF said about 55 rockets had been fired into Israel so far from Lebanon on Saturday.

Israel continues to attack targets in Lebanon that it says are linked to the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.

Lebanon’s health ministry said on Saturday that an Israeli attack in Zoni, a predominantly Christian town north of Beirut, killed two people.

Local media reported that the strike crashed into a car traveling on the main highway.

The attack was unusual as most Israeli operations to date have focused on Shia Muslim-majority areas where Hezbollah has a presence.
