Watch Ariana Grande and Dana Garvey Channel Jennifer Coolidge on ‘SNL’

Maybe she was born with it… or Ariana Grande in disguise.

The “Eternal Sunshine” singer returns as this week’s host Saturday Night Live For the first time since 2016 — and it wouldn’t be a proper Grande Homecoming if she didn’t show off her celebrity impressions.

In one particularly hilarious sketch, she channeled her good friend Jennifer Coolidge. But why settle for one Coolidge when we have three?

That’s right, the show Grande didn’t ask her to ditch her proven Coolidge impersonation—it was Chloe Feynman and SNL legend Dana Garvey wears huge blonde wigs, pink dresses and their best dramatic shorts.

The sketch begins with Feynman’s Coolidge talking to herself in the mirror and her reflection (played by Grande) answering while getting ready for a date, wearing Maybelline lip gloss with a name she can’t remember for a new ad. Is it “Super-Stay Long-Wear Lip Color”, “Long-Wear Liquid Lip Color” or maybe “Liquid Lip-Long Lip”? In the end, they had more important topics to discuss.

“What are we going to talk about on our date?” Coolidge asked Grande.

Feynman’s Coolidge was stumped. “I don’t know. What makes a good conversation starter?”

After a pause, Grande replied, “Lemon.”

“Heck, yes,” Feynman said. “What topics should we avoid?”

Grande’s Coolidge thought for a moment and said, “Fish.”

“Band or animal?” asked Feynman.

Shocked, Grandes Coolidge replied, “Is there such an animal as a fish?”

At one point Grande needed a minute to collect herself, but the banter continued, breaking into a laughable mood before quickly walking back. Soon, joined by a third Coolidge, Feynman held out his glass to reveal a third window and Garvey emerged.

“Wow!” said Garvey’s Coolidge. ‘Thank God you opened the glass! I’ve been stuck here for years.”

Garvey then proposed that the trio use “a long-wearing liquid lip color with long-lasting mouth magic”.

Garvey and Grande can be seen laughing in the background as the sketch unfolds as they come together to finish off the mock ad by applying lip gloss to each other.

Coolidge wasn’t the only celebrity to get the trick treatment during the Grande SNL arrival She has a reputation as a celebrity impersonator, but the pop star promised to keep things more relaxed in her monologue, telling the crowd, “I’m hosting. I’m not going to make this about me. I’m going to have fun, take it easy, keep it low-key.”

But after she accepted the microphone, she immediately began pitch-perfecting recordings of other singers, including Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani. Later in the night, she impersonated Celine Dion to parody a UFC fight promo to the song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”
