The Kansas City Chiefs and five-time All-Pro defensive end Chris Jones have reached an agreement on a five-year contract with $95 million guaranteed, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday night.
The specifics of the deal are still being finalized, but Jones will sign a five-year contract with all money — $95 million — guaranteed in the first three years. Once the contract is signed, Jones will surpass Nick Bosa ($34 million), Aaron Donald ($31.6M), TJ Watt ($28M) and Joey Bosa ($27M) for the highest average annual salary for a defensive tackle. )
Jones' guaranteed $95 million would be the fourth-most guaranteed money of a defensive player in a current contract, according to the Roster Management System. Rounding out the top three are Nick Bosa ($119.9M), Joey Bosa ($102M) and Myles Garrett ($102M).

The move allows Kansas City to keep its top guard before free agency begins.
Jones, 29, has been in talks with the Chiefs for months, and he sat out all of training camp last year and missed the first game of the regular season against the Detroit Lions.
He returned on an amended one-year contract, totaled 10.5 sacks on the season, was named first-team All-Pro, won his third Super Bowl, and is now the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history based on average annual salary. .
Despite speculation surrounding the trio, coach Andy Reid, tight end Travis Kelce and Jones are all now back in Kansas City as the Chiefs look to become the first NFL team in history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Jones, a second-round draft pick of the Chiefs out of Mississippi State in 2016, had 15.5 sacks in 2018.
Jones has just 2.5 sacks in 19 career playoff games. But he still managed to influence the games. He knocked down three passes in the Chiefs' Super Bowl LIV win over the San Francisco 49ers, and had six touchdowns when the Chiefs beat the 49ers again in Super Bowl LVII.
The Chiefs are busy ahead of free agency.
They used the non-exclusive tag on L'Jarius Sneed, allowing the cornerback to talk to other teams and then potentially trade him with the Chiefs.
Signed pending free-agent linebacker Drew Tranquil to a $19 million, three-year deal, with $13 million fully guaranteed.
